Karmabhoomi is a novel by Munshi Premchand. The story is landed in 1930 and depicts the story of Hindu and Muslim which co-existed for several years, but English education drove a wedge between both the communities.
Similar to all novels by Premchand, every portion of story looks so real as if it is based on true story and story portrays the social issues and thinking in a balanced manner.

Amarkant is an intelligent and idealistic, though weak, young man who has grown up hating his father's business and adherence to the formalities of Hindu religion. He is married to Sukhada who is beautiful and intelligent, but dominates him through her logical and down-to-earth approach to life.
