The Gifts of Asti. Imagine being the last remaining priestess in the service of a powerful God. That's the scenario that propels Andre Norton's fascinating short story, "The Gifts of Asti." Will the god intervene to save Varta from death at the hands of invading hordes?
All Cats Are Gray. It's an unusual story about a treasure hunt, a derelict space craft that everyone who boards her runs terrified from swearing that it's haunted, a black cat, an old space seed who is down on his luck, something that might have come out of an Alien universe, and a woman who spent her off-hours in the smelly, smokey space port dives frequented by those who made their living in the space lanes.

Voodoo Planet. Norton keeps the suspense taut in this story about magic on a planet that resembles Africa and that makes its wealth from big game hunting. The story is full of Norton's classic elements of a clear and meticulous sense of geography, flora, and fauna; a culture built on existing cultures (in this case, African); and clear story-telling.
Star Hunter. This very short novella was previously published along with "Voodoo Planet" as "The Space Adventure Novels of Andre Norton." It takes place in Andre Norton's Forerunner universe. Some planets have not been well explored, some have been colonized, and some are home to aliens.
Storm over Warlock is one of Norton's finest SF adventure novels, equally as exotic and exciting as her "Plague Ship."
The People of the Crater. This classic novella from Andre Norton is one of her first ventures into science fiction, and has held up pretty well since. it was first published in 1947. The plot is fairly straight forward, but told in a spirit of adventure and wonder:
