About the Author/Artist: Janet Hetherington is a writer and cartoonist who grew up reading comics—with a particular fondness for romance comics. Janet studied journalism at Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada, and after graduation, she landed an editor’s job with Canadian Consumer magazine. Janet left the magazine to join Canada Post, where she worked as a writer, editor and program coordinator in the Stamp Marketing area. Janet’s passion for comics proved most useful when she and her partner, artist Ronn Sutton, worked on Canada’s 1995 super-hero stamp issue and related comic book. Janet has written extensively about comics and animation for such publications as Amazing Heroes, Wizard, Comic Book Collector, Combo, Animation magazine, Animation World Network and more. She served as managing editor of the WizardWorld.com comics news site and as editor of the Toy Report, published by the Canadian Toy Testing Council. Janet currently works as an editor with the Canadian Food Inspection Agency. In 1997, Janet created the Eternal Romance comic book series; in 2000, she began a six-year stint writing scripts for the Elvira, Mistress of the Dark comic book from Claypool Comics. In 2006, Janet returned to romance to script “Dangerous Seductions” for MyRomanceStory.com and to adapt Eternal Romance for the web. Janet has served as a judge for the Will Eisner Comic Book Industry Awards and for the Canada Council for the Arts. In 1999, Janet received Canada’s Aurora Award for Excellence in Science Fiction and Fantasy.
