Frankenstein is a literary work of the English writer Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley. Published in 1818 and framed in the tradition of the Gothic Novel, the text explores such topics as the scientific morality, the creation and destruction of life and the audacity of the humanity in his relation with God. Of there, the subtitle of the work: the protagonist tries to compete in being able with God, as a luck of modern Prometeo that wrests the sacred fire of the life from the divinity.
