To all stakeholders in JIPM

The Japan Institute of Plant Maintenance (JIPM) has striven to spread the concept of TPM and educate industry in its practices, since it put forward the concept of total productive maintenance (TPM) in 1971. The concept of TPM was invented in Japan, and since then has been introduced at many companies inside and outside that country. JIPM has now decided to provide information in the form of an e-book on the best TPM practices of those companies and factories that have achieved operational excellence and maintenance excellence with regard to manufacturing. JIPM has done this so that as many plant managers as possible can have access to these best practices in an easy-to-read manner.

The mission of JIPM, which is a public interest incorporated association, is to support the security, safety and stability of production through total productive maintenance and management. These methodologies consist of high-quality plant management and maintenance techniques, with a focus on personnel, equipment, material, and information. While carrying out the above mission, JIPM also makes it a principle to respect humanity in order to achieve the type of manufacturing that is friendly to nature and the environment and that makes effective use of the world’s limited resources.
