Not a Lot on Top is a silly picture book about a child trying to hide her father’s bald head—under a cat, behind a lamp shade and in a fishing net. Designed to appeal to the new reader, Not a Lot on Top uses mostly two or three-letter words, short sentences, repetition, a simple story line and zany, whimsical illustrations.
Also included are interactive activities for the child to practice reading skills and improve comprehension and retention. Using different color crayons, the child can match rhyming words or pictures, find hidden words and answer simple questions on ten activity pages. Completed pages can be saved, emailed or printed.
Both the author, Mrs. K, a reading and writing teacher, and the illustrator, Mrs. A, an art teacher, hold master’s degrees in education.
