This a client authenticator/token for the open-source two-factor authentication solution called mobile-OTP.
For details on the solution and the server-side components necessary, please visit http://motp.sourceforge.net/.
Your device acts as a token, with a secret stored in the devices keychain. Together with the secret, the current time and a PIN code (or challenge from the authentication server), the app produces a one-time password yielding very strong authentication.
What sets this client apart from the other mobile-OTP products available, is that as an option, it can enhance the motp standard. Using this extension, it adds your unique device identifier (UDID), so you in effect have three factors for the authentication.
Please note that of course the server-side needs to be adapted for this to work.
