More than half of the world´s population lives in Asia. The challenges, especially for healthcare and healthsystems, will include: Megacities, environmental hazards and fast growing and aging societies. Asia is indeed a key focus for sustainable development. The first World Health Summit, Regional Meeting - Asia (WHSRMA) will be held in Singapore from 8th to 10th April 2013, hosted by the National University of Singapore (NUS) and MOH
To address Asia’s challenges, the Asia regional meeting will facilitate the discussion between members from academia, healthcare, industry, government, non government organizations and media to formulate tailored Asian solutions and promote international cooperation at the scientific, economic and political levels, and to move research and knowledge to policy and implementation in Asia and beyond. Health Ministers from various countries will also be invited to share their experiences on policy and health system reforms.
