Agriculture, education, health, water and sanitation, human rights and the environment: all areas where the Belgian Cooperation is active in partner countries.
Three quarters of Peruvians thus benefit from social security. The Vietnamese Quy Chau district offers better services to its population through more efficient management. In the Palestinian territories, the school door opens Bedouin girls. These are just a few examples of numerous achievements of governmental cooperation in 2014.
Belgium also played a key role in the fight against Ebola. Over 37 million euros have been allocated for emergency aid to contain the epidemic in West Africa. The immense dedication of many compatriots was particularly appreciated.
Belgian Development Cooperation also work to the challenges faced in Southern maximum visibility to the Belgian public. It annually organizes many activities, including campaigns in primary schools, and finance audiovisual productions. Thus, in 2014, the Belgian Development Cooperation has partnered with FIFF in Namur in order to enhance audiovisual promotion of South-speaking countries.
Our country also contributes to reducing infant and maternal mortality and promote gender equality, two Millennium Development Goals at the heart of the action of the Belgian Cooperation.
