It is fascinating to think how the concept of gates evolved starting with wood all the way till aluminum driveway gates. Surely a few hundred years back, there were no individual claims to land and property and the entire community lived together in harmony with each other. However in modern times, things have changed drastically. In olden times, before renaissance, gates were very simple. Just a few logs of wood along with leaves and twigs tied together to form a sort of barricade. Aluminum, whose amazing properties were not exploited to a large extent, was then used to create driveway gates that had the flexibility of design that wood possessed along with the sturdiness and durability of Wrought Iron. All this without the hassles of corrosion or rust is just the perfect combination to create aluminum driveway gates.

Aluminum driveway gates have now taken over the market with all the advantages it has to offer. It not only lasts really long but is easy to maintain and looks very elegant. Being light weight these are easy to transport. The number of colours designs and variety available in aluminum driveway gates is just astounding! These gates are now available readily in every part of the world which is obvious considering how abundant aluminum is in nature. Even today, if one visits the countryside with the farmhouses and the rustic forests, we get a glimpse of how drastically different the lives of city dwellers are. One of the reasons for this may be the fact that wood is now a very expensive buy and good quality wood is rare and in short supply. Another reason may be the fact that cities these days need gates and fences that are secure considering the rising crime rates especially of thefts and break-ins. While steel and wrought iron still remain a popular choice for gates even today, more and more people are opting for lighter options. The most popular alternative for driveway gates is aluminium. Already used in weight sensitive industries such as Aircrafts and ships, aluminium has slowly found its way into our homes.

The function of a gate too has evolved and changed over time. Once used only to demarcate land and property, gates these days have become more of a security essential. This combined with the growth in modern technology has ensured that driveway gates today come with much more features than a simple entrance to your home.
