This Optimum Pet app uses augmented reality technology to allow Dr Chris Brown the Optimum brand ambassador to introduce you to the brand and their Cat food products. When initially launched there is a short introduction on how to use the app the user will then be prompted by on screen guides to point their phone at an Optimum logo. Once the Optimum logo is recognised Dr Chris Brown will appear sitting on an Optimum logo and talk about the Optimum brand.
Following this introduction on screen guides will again re appear and the user then has the opportunity to point their phone at any cat food product within the Optimum range. Dr Chris Brown again will appear and talk you through the individual cat food product the phone is pointed at, in particular what type or age of cat that food is particularly good for and how it can help improve your cats health.
After a specific product video is watched the competition section of the app will be unlocked and the user will have the opportunity to enter. If the user is not in front of an Optimum logo or a pack while using this app they will be able to watch the videos in the video section of the app, however these will not be in an AR format.
When the app is launched a geo locator will run and if the user is identified as being in a Woolworths store they will see a Woolworths branded version of the app. The app will function exactly the same, the only difference being the competition prize and along with the competition a coupon for money off the Optimum products will be unlocked. This coupon is only valid for 7 days.
The aim of the app is allow people to learn about the Optimum brand and how specific products in the cat food range can be beneficial for their cat in a new and innovative way.
