The Science Centre World Summit 2014 brings together CEO’s, managers, decision makers, experts from within and beyond the science centre field to explore together the global challenges and to focus on long term strategic issues. Building alliances and partnerships outside the science centre field is necessary and desirable to help science centres face challenges in the future.
The Summit gives you the insight and the tools to prepare your science centre for a rapidly changing society. The innovative format of the Summit allows for the establishment of new strategic partnerships that enhance large-scale citizen engagement in science and technology.
The outcomes of the Summit will result in a plan, The Mechelen Declaration, in which the international science centre field and its strategic partners commit to concrete actions for the enhancement of public engagement for a better world. This action plan will build upon the “Declarations” issued at the Toronto (2008) and Cape Town (2011) Science Centre World Congresses.
