Hampshire Glasshouse Services has been established since 1995 and was set up to take on a niche market within the commercial glasshouse industry.
Having worked in all aspects of the industry for over 30 years we recognised the need for a company to specialise in the area of maintenance.
Under fast changing rules within health and safety, working under glass has become a big issue, so demand for these services have grown in recent years. Many parts of these services are of a seasonal nature, such as some of the major growers have to carry out essential annual health checks every 12 months. This will involve the pressure cleaning of all the glass using various glass cleaning bio-degradable agents, which is designed to remove moss and fungi and slow down its growth etc. It can also involve the reglazing of cracked and broken sheets of glass, which in todays modern Venlo glasshouses is a very skilled job.
As a company we pride ourselves on being skilled in all aspects of the industry and indeed have all the skills and competence required to work on all makes of commercial glasshouse structure. Another aspect of this work is the ventilation systems, where we offer a comprehensive servicing programme. We can also supply and fit racks and pinions complete with motorised gearboxes and controls.
We operate on nationwide basis and are contractors to many horticultural colleges throughout the U.K. As well as the royal parks in London, Duchy of Cornwall estates Cornwall, Capel Manor college to name but a few and also the prison service where we have enhanced security clearance.
In recent years we have carried out restoration works to the glasshouses within Longleat walled gardens, which were originally designed by Capability Brown and televised on a BBC documentary. It has always been our aim to offer a fast and efficient service to all our customers, and our philosophy as always is to go the extra mile.
